Studio 1914 - 2nd Raintown Film Festival

Raintown Film Festival has grown from strength to strength. In this edition, we strived to present Taiping's vibrant side while retaining the charm of the rain town.

In the lead-up to the film festival, we made social media videos to increase public engagement. We created a ‘things to do’ video with a tongue-in-cheek take on the films that will be shown at the festival.

For the second year, the film festival is anchored by the heavyweight film "Rock" by Mamat Khalid, celebrating its 20th anniversary. The festival trailer intercuts between the scenes from "Rock" and the festival films vibing to the rhythm of the rock anthem!

Living up to its name, the rain did not let up during the festival as well. As we continue to document the festival, we will have amassed an amazing amount of rainy footage of Taiping, transforming through the years.

In this edition, we also helped to co-organise the Raintown Short Film Competition which has inspired more filmmakers to create new works to be screened at future editions of Raintown Film Festival.
